Counter-Terrorism Compact-GCTF Partnership Consultation Meeting

The 10th Partnership Consultation between the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact and the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) discussed ongoing and future collaboration to support Member States' efforts in implementing the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.

To further advance the implementation of the Compact-GCTF Options Paper adopted in 2022, participants discussed synergies and practical avenues of cooperation, including the Gender Identity Factors Platform.

Three interactive sessions focused on the United Nations Joint Appeal for Counter-Terrorism in Africa, vulnerable target protection, behavioral insights, preventing the misuse of new and emerging technologies, and measuring results of CT/PCVE initiatives through monitoring and evaluation

The Partnership Consultations between the Counter-Terrorism Compact and the GCTF are held twice a year.

The United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact, established by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in 2018, aims to enhance coordination and coherence in the work of the United Nations system on preventing and countering terrorism and violent extremism, while respecting existing mandates.
