Online Training Course on the Detection of Terrorists and their Travel Movements - The Gambia
On 22-26 February, the CT Travel Programme held its third online training course on countering terrorist travel, using travel information including Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR), with 33 focal points in The Gambia. The five-day online training covered all aspects of the updated training syllabus, such as threat assessment, international legal framework, operationalization of a PIU, state carrier engagement, goTravel software, international cooperation, and included a new maritime module. The training course was preceded by a deep-dive assessment in October 2020 with the Programme and its Partners, and, having completed the training course, The Gambia is ready to initiate implementation of the API and PNR programme in the country.
