described material if it is not already obvious from the rest of the
record.
Notes about language editions in additional
physical formats or by other publishers are recorded in General Note field 500, not in 546.
The text of the Language Note is recorded in 546 subfield $a. Optionally, the name
of the alphabet, script, or other symbol systems used to record the language may be
recorded in 546 subfield $b. Three-letter language codes corresponding to the
languages in which the item is issued are recorded in field 041, and the code
for the language of the item being described is recorded in 008 (Header)
position 35-37.
