Introduction
Voting records provide voting and other related information on adopted UN
resolutions, such as resolution title, symbol, type of vote (recorded or not recorded),
date of voting, total number of each type of vote (yes, no and abstention),
agenda item(s), symbol of related draft resolution and, for recorded
vote, information on how each Member State voted.
Three different workforms are used for creating the three different types of
voting records:
Vote-S -
Security Council resolutions
Vote-A -
General Assembly resolutions adopted without vote
Vote-GA -
General Assembly resolutions adopted with vote
(this workform is used only when there is no machine-generated vote)
There are several steps involved in the creation of the voting records. The Quick
Guide provides a brief instruction.
