Submissions to the Commission: Partial revised Submission by Argentina
On 28 October 2016, the Argentine Republic submitted to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, in accordance with Article 76, paragraph 8, of the Convention information on the limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of its territorial sea is measured.
It is noted that the Convention entered into force for Argentina on 31 December 1995. It is also noted that, on 11 March 2016, the Commission adopted the “Recommendations of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf in regard to the Submission made by Argentina on 21 April 2009.” It is further noted that, pursuant to section V. paragraph 11 (3) of Annex III to the rules of procedures of the Commission, the Summary of the Recommendations has been made public.
In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Commission, a communication is being circulated to all Member States of the United Nations, as well as States Parties to the Convention, in order to make public the executive summary of the partial revised submission, including all charts and coordinates contained in that summary.
The consideration of the partial revised submission made by Argentina will be included in the provisional agenda of the forty-third session of the Commission to be held in New York from 30 January to 17 March 2017.
Upon completion of the consideration of the submission, the Commission shall make recommendations pursuant to article 76 of the Convention.
