The American International University - Bangladesh, a UNAI member institution in Bangladesh, is organizing its 1st AIUB International Conference on Arts and Social Sciences titled "International Conference on Sustainable Development: Opportunities and Challenges", to be heldonline from 12 - 13 January 2022.

This conference will facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among researchers from diverse fields of arts and social sciences who are deliberating on a wide range of issues such as poverty elimination, gender equality, rule of law, environmental protection, media’s role in promoting good governance and development, digital inclusion, quality education, public health facilities, food security, among others.

Call for Applications: Countering the Use of ICTs for Criminal Purposes

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) issued acall for applications to participate in the Ad Hoc Committee to Elaborate a Comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes, which will hold its first session in New York on 17- 28 January 2022. The 山General Assembly that established such Ad Hoc Committeerequested the Chair of this body, in consultation with UNODC, to draw up a list of representatives of among others, academic institutions,including those with expertise in the field of cybercrime, who may participate in the Ad Hoc Committee.

Call for Inputs: Global Sustainable Development Report 2023

The is a United Nations publication aimed to strengthen the science-policy interface at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development. Drafted by an independent group of scientists (IGS) appointed by the Secretary-General and supported by a task team of six UN-system agencies, the GSDR is published every four years.

For the 2023 report, the IGS is seeking inputs from experts from various disciplines (natural scientists, social scientists, policymakers, practitioners, etc.) from across the world. Inputsin the form of short responses to key questions, as well as the submission of relevant publications. They are interested both in peer-reviewed scientific publications and other sources of knowledge documented in written form, i.e. reports, working papers, ‘white’ papers, evaluations, etc.

Call for Submissions: Thematic Report to the 山Human Rights Council “Social Protection: A Reality Check”

The , intends to dedicate his report to the 50th session of the 山Human Rights Council, to be presented in June 2022, to the gap between legal coverage and effective coverage in the area of social protection as well as to situation of informal workers. The report will seek to identify the obstacles individuals and households face in seeking to access social protection and to propose recommendations for how to overcome them.

The Special Rapporteur invites all interested governments, civil society organizations, academics, international organizations, activists, corporations and others, to provide written input for his thematic report. Respondents are requested to limit their comments to a maximum of 2,500 words. Additional supporting materials, such as reports, academic studies, and other types of background materials may be annexed to the submission.
