Committee on World Food Security (CFS 48)
The 48th Plenary of CFS will take place virtually on Friday, 4 June 2021, and will feature ten side events organized by its partners. Eight of these side events will be held on Thursday 3 June with the other two scheduled for Friday 4 June. Food for All: Food conflicts and the future of food systems
The Secretariat of State of the Holy See, the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to FAO, IFAD & WFP, the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and the Vatican COVID-19 Commission alongside its partners working in food security, have launched a series of webinars entitled Food for Life, Food Justice, Food for All. The webinar on May 31, cohosted by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, and titled 鈥淔ood for All: Food conflicts and the future of food systems鈥, will explore different responses to food conflicts, and how the Church can best contribute and collaborate to address hunger and food inequality around the world.
Food from the ocean, rivers and lakes - essential for our food systems
This Global Dialogue aims to address the concept that a healthy ocean means healthy people 鈥 the ocean and other aquatic ecosystems are fragile but have the potential to be pillars of local food systems if those systems are transformed to be more sustainable, nature-positive and accessible. The Producer Public Forums aim at updating producers across the globe of latest Summit progress; seeking inputs and recommendations on emerging solution areas from producers; and mobilizing their participation in the upcoming producer-focused dialogues. The 缅北禁地Food Systems Summit competition 鈥楤est Small Business: Good Food for All鈥 will identify the best small and medium-sized enterprises from across the world transforming food systems for a better tomorrow. Running from April 29 to June 4, the Summit will spotlight winners as the 鈥淏est 50 Small Businesses: Good Food for All鈥, as well as a share of US$100,000 in prize money.
