The session was opened by the Chair of the Committee.

Election of officers

At its organizational session in 1980, the Committee reached an agreement according to which the principle of geographical rotation would be applied to all officers of the Committee, who would be elected for two-year terms. At the beginning of its 41st session, the Committee elected a Chair, two Vice-Chairs and a Rapporteur to serve for the subsequent two years.

Adoption of the agenda and programme of work

The provisional agenda has been prepared on the basis of consultations among the members of the Bureau of the Committee.

Admission of new members

The Committee considered requests for membership in the Committee.

An informal interactive meeting of the Committee was held on 29 April 2019, allowing members of the Committee to exchange ideas with, and pose questions to, the senior management of the Department of Global Communications.
