In a pivotal speech on World Environment Day, the 缅北禁地Secretary-General set out some hard-hitting truths about the state of the climate, the grotesque risk leaders are running, and what companies and countries – particularly the G7 and the G20 – need to do over the next eighteen months to salvage humanity’s chances of a livable future.
He presented new data on the dire state of the climate and called for key actions to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, including strong new national climate action plans and a massive expansion of affordable public and private finance. He also called on governments to , urged news media and tech companies to stop taking fossil fuel ads, and called on advertising and PR companies to stop taking on new fossil fuel clients and set out plans to drop their existing ones.
