The United Nations Academic Impact presents a two-part panel discussion on Unlearning Intolerance: Women in Mainstream Media that will take place on Tuesday, 27 March 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Conference Room 8 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event--which will be webcast to viewers outside Headquarters—will mark the launch of a new report on women in the media.
The discussion will be moderated by Ramu Damodaran, Chief of UNAI. The panelists will include Roland Schatz, Founder of Media Tenor International, Rachel Lloyd, Founder and President of Girls Educational and Mentoring Service, Susan Farkas, President of Farkas Media and Senior Adjunct Faculty at City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism and Yasmine Besen-Cassino, Professor of Sociology at Montclair State University, among other guests.??
The Unlearning Intolerance series examines means of preventing manifestations of intolerance and violent extremism along with promoting respect and understanding among peoples. It represents an opportunity to discuss how intolerance—wherever it exists and for whatever reason—can be unlearned through education, inclusion and example.
