The 10th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV 2017) will take place 7-9 March 2017 in New Delhi, India and will cover a wide range of issues such as digital empowerment, e-Governance, cyber security, and using of big data.
The ICEGOV series focuses on the use of technology to transform relationships between government and citizens, businesses, civil society and other arms of government in order to improve public governance and its contribution to public policy and development. The umbrella theme for ICEGOV 2017 is: 'Building Knowledge Societies &ndash From Digital Government to Digital Empowerment'.
The ICEGOV conference series is coordinated by the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), based in the city of Guimar?es, Portugal. Other partners include the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India and its National e-Governance Division (NeGD), as well as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
The first Call for Papers has been released and ICEGOV2017 of original work including research, experience or both, not published or considered for publication elsewhere, that contribute to the conference theme. The submissions can be targeted at one of 12 defined tracks, the emerging topics track, the doctoral track and the poster track, among them there are Digitization, Information Ethics, Open Government and many others.
The ICEGOV series looks beyond the traditional focus on technology-enabled transformation in government towards new forms, paradigms, and foundations for technology-enabled governance, collaboration and development. ICEGOV events have traditionally featured rich academic, capacity-building and network-building program of lectures, plenary discussions, thematic sessions, exhibitions. All events are organized in collaboration with researchers and experts from around the world.
Every year these conferences gather 30-50 countries and 400-800 individuals as representatives from the government, academia, industry, NGOs and international organizations.
