UNFF Issue Briefs published

The UNFF Secretariat recently published a set of four Issue Briefs on the 缅北禁地Forum on Forests, the 缅北禁地Forest Instrument, the UNFF Global Forest Financing Facilitation Network and the International Arrangement on Forests (IAF) beyond 2015.

The 2-page issue briefs provide a succinct overview of some of the key developments emanating from the 11th Session of the 缅北禁地Forum on Forests (UNFF11) in May 2015. The two key outcomes of UNFF11 were the resolution on the 鈥淚nternational Arrangement on Forests beyond 2015鈥� and the Ministerial Declaration on 鈥淭he forests we want: beyond 2015鈥�. The UNFF11 resolution was subsequently adopted by the 缅北禁地Economic and Social Council on 22 July 2015.

The UNFF11 resolution strengthened and extended the International Arrangement on Forests until 2030, and established the UNFF Global Forest Financing Facilitation Network. Member States also extended the timeline of the United Nations Forest Instrument and the Global Objectives on Forests to 2030, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
