Dorothy A. Bradley (Belize) - Member
Ms. Dorothy Ann Bradley is the current Auditor General of Belize. Appointed on 1 September 2011, Ms. Bradley is the first female to ever hold such a post in Belize. In her role as Auditor-General, Ms. Bradley has served with great distinctions, having consistently conducted audits and investigations of various ministries, departments and municipalities. She has testified and presented several special reports outlining the findings and recommendations on the complexities of Belize’s auditing compliance, performance and financial standing to parliament.
Prior to becoming the Auditor General, Ms. Bradley was appointed the Chief Elections Officer (2010-2011). In that post, she was responsible for the implementation of all provisions of electoral laws in the country which entailed managing the country’s electoral data base, registration of persons qualified to vote and managing the electoral process both at the national and local levels of government.
From 2007 to 2009 she served as the Accountant General where she was responsible for ensuring that proper systems of account and control were established. From 2000 to 2007 she served as Supervisor, General Sales Tax Department where she was responsible for the general administration of sales tax with functions including collection of revenue, registration and auditing of agents.
Before joining the public service in 2000, Ms. Bradley was employed by the Central Bank of Belize for 17 years—rising to the level of Supervisor of Banking and Currency.
Dorothy holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of the West Indies and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Belize. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
In her past time, she practices yoga and is a member of the Belize All Star Steel Pan Band. She is also a dedicated lay minister in her church and enjoys supporting her local community.
