Web-services

Maps are increasingly published on the internet, this has both revolutionized the design and the cartographic production. Web-maps and underlying web-services can now be shared by anyone for many purposes. The pervasive nature of the digital world in our life always enables us to connect to maps via smartphones, tablets and laptops everywhere. The web in general has supported the availability of web-services and web-maps which provide the availability to zoom in and explore different regions of the map at various level of details. The United Nations prepares web-services and web-maps that can be re-used and mashed up with other services following guidelines of the map permission.

It is recommended to use Google Chrome for all the Web-services under this page.

Clear Map is originally designed and created for the use of the United Nations Secretariat including departments, regional commissions, offices including offices away from Headquarters and beyond for the United Nations system for their website and related web-products. The web-mapping service is open and accessible to the global community under the terms spelled out under map permissions. The service is available in different cartographic flavours web-canvas, available through the web-application, to be easily integrated any thematic data and any colour schema chosen.

The boundaries and names shown and the designations used on this map do not imply official endorsement or acceptance by the United Nations.

Final boundary between the Republic of Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan has not yet been determined.
