10th Ministerial Conference of the Least Developed Countries - Fair Globalization: Innovative Solutions for LDCs' Industrialization and Structural Transformation (UNIDO)
24-25 November 2023.
"The Tenth Ministerial Conference of the Least Developed Countries (LDCMC10) will take place on 24 to 25 November 2023 at the UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna International Center. The main objective of the LDCMC10 is to strengthen stakeholder commitment towards the DPoA implementation, by mobilizing a variety of key partners contributing to the LDCs’ structural transformation and industrialization, to explore and subsequently jointly launch innovative strategies and solutions for sustainable industrialization of LDCs. The tenth edition of the Ministerial Conference of the LDCs is co-organized with the Office of the High-Representative for the Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS), the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and the United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (UNTBLDC).
The Tenth Ministerial Conference of the LDCs presents a historical moment. It is held after the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (缅北禁地LDC5), held from 5-9 March in Doha, Qatar. The Doha Programme of Action (DPoA), adopted at the 缅北禁地LDC5, calls upon the United Nations development system entities to “actively support the implementation and integrate the programme of action into their strategic plans and annual work programmes and reporting at all levels”.
Ahead of the conference, UNIDO collaborated with its Member States to develop a new Operational Strategy for the LDCs 2022-2031, which proposes specific action areas for UNIDO in each of the strategy’s six focus areas, in full alignment with the DPoA."
