21 November 2024. "This session seeks to highlight some practical entry points within the global green transition to assist in more of a green ease than a squeeze: securing new market opportunities for the LDCs. It aims to cover the following non-exhaustive thematic areas:

– Technology transfer
– Carbon pricing, including taxation
– Sustainability standards
– Environmentally friendly goods and services
– Connecting stakeholders with new sources of investment and finance

The overarching objective is to change some of the current dynamics and move away from a potential green squeeze to green ease: a transformative agenda that boosts green credentials, competitiveness and sustainable structural economic transformation."

16 November 2024. "Under the auspices of UNIDO and the REEEI initiative, we invite you to a dialogue focusing on a just transition to electric cooking in Least Developed Countries (LDCs). This discussion will shed light on the pressing health, environmental, and social challenges posed by traditional biomass cooking methods and the significant benefits of adopting electric cooking solutions. We will highlight successful case studies, address barriers to adoption, and showcase innovative strategies that ensure gender equity and empower women. Stakeholders from various sectors will share insights and collaborate on policies and partnerships to promote sustainable and inclusive cooking technologies."

11 November 2024."The LEG will present the updated NAP technical guidelines. It will also launch the NAP progress report for 2024, which provides the most up-to-date information on where developing countries are on their NAPs and presents emerging best practices as well as outstanding obstacles and challenges. Countries will be invited to share their experiences on formulating and implementing their NAPs. Representatives of the GCF and the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) will be invited to share their views on assisting countries with the implementation of their NAPs to ensure countries are implementing at scale and also building up necessary capacity to programme and mobilize the increased levels of funding anticipated in the future. Other products of the LEG's 2023-2024 work programme will also be launched, including a policy brief on aligning NAPs, NDCs and Adaptation Communication."

"In the lead-up to COP29, this online event convenes LDC policymakers, international experts and other stakeholders to:

– Provide insights into the expected outcomes of COP29 with a focus on LDC priorities

– To support the identification and creation of solutions to advance sustainable development and a just transition to low-carbon economies within LDCs; and

– Explore how trade and investment policy and their deployment to support LDCs sustainable just transition.

This event will serve as a primer for COP29, specifically the Climate Finance, Investment and Trade Day (14 November), which will seek to explore how to advance more innovative solutions to address the climate emergency and how trade and investment policies can be leveraged to secure more climate finance for LDCs."
