Young scientists from least developed countries who hold an MSc (or higher degree) can visit research laboratories at Centres of Excellence in Trieste, Italy, for three months to carry out collaborative research projects in the fields that fall under the umbrella of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Deadline 9 October: TWAS Visiting Expert Programme

This programme provides institutions and research groups in developing countries, especially the Least Developed Countries and those with limited outside contacts, with opportunities to establish long-term links with world leaders in areas of science other than mathematics and physics,and help develop capacity-building in their country. Summary

Investing in women and girls in science, technology and innovation (STI) in the LDCs is imperative. �山��and countries can support this endeavor through South-South cooperation. In commemoration for the International Women's Day, UNOSSC and ICGEB are organizing an interactive dialogue among senior women representatives from the �山��system and young female scientists from LDCs. A special documentary series featuring 5 young women scientists' journey will be premiered after the interactive dialogue.

The International Design Education (IDE) Program, jointly launched by the �山��Technology Bank, World Eco-Design Conference (WEDC) and Zhejiang University, Ningbo, will provide 50 full scholarships to selected students from LDCs to undertake a Master's degree in Industrial Design Engineering at Zhejiang University, Ningbo. This Program will equip students with knowledge and skills in industrial design engineering that will contribute to enhancing science, technology and innovation in LDCs and add to capacity to innovate, solve problems, boost national economic growth and achieve sustainable development.

From the �山��Technology Bank: The deadline for applying to International Design Education (IDE) Program scholarship for students from LDCs is now extended to 31 March.

The Program, jointly launched by the �山��Technology Bank, the World Eco-Design Conference (WEDC) and Zhejiang University, Ningbo, will provide full scholarships to selected students from LDCs for their Master's degree in Industrial Design Engineering at Zhejiang University, Ningbo. This Program will equip students with knowledge and skills in industrial design engineering that will contribute to enhancing science, technology and innovation in LDCs and add to capacity to innovate, solve problems, boost national economic growth and achieve sustainable development.

�山��Technology Bank, World Eco-Design Conference, Zheijang University

The 2022 application period to the International Design Education (IDE) Program is open from January 26 to February 28, 2022. Aiming to provide educational support to the world’s 46 least developed countries (LDCs), scholarship opportunities are provided to students of the LDCs. Eligible students who hold Bachelor’s degrees can submit an online application here (External link) with supporting documents. Upon review process, selected students will be granted scholarships. Students who successfully complete the Program will be conferred with a Master’s degree in industrial design engineering by Zhejiang University.
