The Real United Nations: An Interactive Briefing Series for Model UNs

Samuel Martell (缅北禁地Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs), Brenden Varma (缅北禁地Department of Global Communications) and Edem Wosornu (缅北禁地Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) at a“Real UN”briefing at New York University.

Across the globe, Model 缅北禁地simulations are popular ways for students to learn more about the UN. However, they tend to focus solely on the intergovernmental process. That is why “The Real United Nations: An Interactive Briefing Series for Model UNs” was launched. The idea is for diverse panels of 缅北禁地staff and diplomats to speak to Model 缅北禁地clubs, share their stories with participants and explain what they actually do to achieve 缅北禁地mandates.

During these exchanges, students can ask real 缅北禁地staff and diplomats, working in such fields as political affairs, humanitarian aid, sustainable development and communications, about their experience working at 缅北禁地Headquarters and field offices. The conversations are meant to be frank – so that students can gain a real understanding of what actually goes on in the UN’s halls and missions.
