Civil Society Strategy Meeting for LDC5
Location: Bonn, Germany
The Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) is where the world will come together to renew its bond of solidarity with the world’s most vulnerable states. The time is now to regain our momentum, motivation, and our morality, in favour of the LDCs. The situation is urgent. Civil Society plays a pivotal role in reaching the most vulnerable. LDC5 provides a unique opportunity for the Civil Society to further cement relationships with the LDCs, their citizens and development partners.
The Civil Society Strategy Meeting for LDC5 will gather civil society actors, researchers, and networkers, mainly from the Global South and with strong LDC participation, to prepare for the LDC5 Conference. The meeting provides a very timely opportunity to assess the current global situation and the multiple challenges and crises with their cumulative impacts, especially for LDCs.
The programme will explore and unpack key policy issues of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) and analyze the opportunities and challenges in its implementation. The participants bring diverse expertise and first-hand experience in the assessment of policy outcomes, such as those of MC12 or ongoing policy processes such as the mid-term review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
