Third SIDS National Focal Points Meeting

Background

UN-OHRLLS is convening the third (in-person) SIDS National Focal Points meeting from 5-6 August, 2022 in St. Johns, Antigua. The SIDS National Focal Points (NFP) Network is a platform to discuss SIDS related issues and to advance coherence in implementation of the SAMOA Pathway. The network facilitates the strengthening of coherence and coordination at the national, regional and global levels on SIDS-related issues and fosters peer-learning and exchange of best practices on the implementation and follow up.

The upcoming meeting will:

  • Share experiences, challenges, opportunities and best practices, on key finance related issues for SIDS in implementing the SAMOA Pathway and SDGs in the context of COVID-19 recovery efforts, in keeping with building back better.
  • Discuss preparations for the Fourth SIDS Conference in 2024.

Participation

This is an in-person meeting (online participation may be possible based on conference facilities). Participants include government designated National Focal Points of SIDS, other Member states representative, Resident coordinators, relevant Ãå±±½ûµØagencies and regional commissions and experts.

Language

The meeting will be conducted in English.
