NEW YORK 17 September 2020 – Reiterating their call for a global stimulus package for Least Developed Countries (LDCs),?Foreign Ministers?met?virtually?at?the General Assembly?this week to?discuss how?the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically hampered efforts?for?more vulnerable countries to?meet?their development?goals.?
Hon. Minister Mkaka, thank you for giving me the floor again to say a few closing remarks, and let me thank and congratulate you for chairing this very important and successful meeting. The efficient and substantive way in which you presided over the proceedings was simply exceptional.

We are all aware that LDCs, LLDCs and African countries are especially hard hit by COVID-19 and the world-wide recession.?The poorest, women and girls and people with disabilities are?among the people?suffering the most.?
