The presentation will be led by Mr. Keneshbek Sainazarov, SFCG’s Kyrgyzstan Country Director, and Ms. Tereza Grünvaldová, Search’s Asia Regional Director</span><span style="font-size:14px;">.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">The presentation will highlight how the initiative promoted resilience within 27 communities prone to violence and extremist rhetoric across Kyrgyzstan </span><span style="font-size:14px;">through</span><span style="font-size:14px;"> engaging young </span><span style="font-size:14px;">peacebuilders</span><span style="font-size:14px;">. It will share effective and innovative mechanisms for engaging the most “unheard” youth through community-based conflict resolution focusing on issues that provoke grievances and marginalization, such as violence in schools, early marriages, and interethnic tensions. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">Peacebuilding mechanisms applied in #JashStan, moreover, serve as a feedback mechanism on UNSCR 2250’s application in Kyrgyzstan and provide an opportunity to deliver key challenges, lessons learned and tips that derive from a Toolkit for </span><span style="font-size:14px;">community</span><span style="font-size:14px;"> and arts-based peacebuilding and Youth conflict mapping exercises. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">The presentation will be accompanied </span><span style="font-size:14px;">with</span><span style="font-size:14px;"> a photo exhibition. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">If you are a CSO colleague without a 山grounds pass and would like to attend, please be sure to notify Tammy Smith (<a href="mailto:smith24@un.org">smith24@un.org</a>) by COB Thursday, 1 November, so that we may facilitate your entry to the building. </span></p> </div></div></div> Mon, 29 Oct 2018 22:26:00 +0000 Kensuke Matsueda 4029 at /peacebuilding
