On 16 April 2024, the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) participated in a regional technology workshop for Latin America in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Organized by the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) and the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FIRJAN), the workshop was aimed at local and international technology companies based in the region that were interested in learning more about how terrorist and violent extremist networks exploit digital platforms in Latin America and the ways technology companies are working together to build solutions.
