Guidance and Assistance
CROSSROADS
We are developing our United Nations-system-wide practical guidance on security sector reform for a wide audience - from policy makers to practitioners. When completed, will contain dozens of short, state-of-the-art modules on the widest range of SSR areas.
The first modules will be available here in 2024.
SSuRGe Team
Our '' is how we call the United Nations Standing Capacity for Security Sector Reform and Governance. It provides impactful short-term support in response to requests from governments, regional organizations, United Nations entities and United Nations country teams. The team is based at the United Nations logistics hub in Brindisi, Italy - but it is formally part of the United Nations Headquarters. This ensures that our support is truly grounded in both policy and practice.
Other Guidance
Over the past decades, the United Nations has published guidance on corrections reform, defence reform, gender, governance, human rights, justice reform, national ownership, national security policies and strategies, peace processes, police reform, transnational organized crime and more.
