When it comes to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), each goal charges us to work on a specific global challenge and to create sustainable and innovative solutions to address those challenges. Having complete knowledge about each and every one of these goals is extremely important to ensure that the world achieves them all by 2030.

Sustainable Development Goal 7, which focuses on affordable and clean energy for all, is one of the goals taking centre stage at this year’s High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). It aims to make energy cleaner and more modern while helping to improve the lives of more than three billion people worldwide, who currently live without the benefits of electricity.

In the lead up to the Forum, 缅北禁地DESA’s Division for Sustainable Development is teaming up with Sulitest (Sustainability Literacy Tools & Community), led by an independent non-for-profit organization, to test people’s knowledge about SDG 7.

Sulitest was created after the and offers an easy way to assess knowledge on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and create a database of awareness and understanding of the goals around the world.

Currently, Sulitest is working with 缅北禁地entities and relevant actors to create SDG specific modules, to raise awareness on the individual goals, test students’ knowledge on the goals, and identify areas that need improvement. This information can then be incorporated into campaigns focused on the issues where knowledge is lacking.

The 2018 High Political Forum’s focus on SDG 7 and four other goals (SDGs 6, 11, 12 and 15) will shed light on the progress that has been made so far, as well as areas that need improvement. The Sulitest SDG 7 specific module will help inform the international community on how much the public knows about this specific goal, so that adjustments can be made to ensure its realization by 2030.

On 8 January, a survey was launched to collect input about SDG 7. All questions relating to the goal are welcome and can be registered .?
