Technical Working Groups to Prepare Roadmap for Universal Energy Access and Energy Transition in Lead-up to 缅北禁地High-level Dialogue
The Working Groups will gather an impressive roster of some 140 energy experts from governments, international agencies, development banks, academia and civil society organizations.
Secretary-General's message at the opening of the 11th IRENA Assembly
We need to ensure universal sustainable energy access by 2030. This is the objective of Sustainable Development Goal 7. Today, we are falling short. For this reason, I am convening a High-level Dialogue on Energy, in September, in New York.

Accelerating progress towards universal energy access and net-zero emissions
Side Event at the 11th IRENA Assembly
Convened by UN-Energy, whose Co-Chairs serve as the Co-Chairs of the High-level Dialogue on Energy, and hosted by IRENA, this technical side event will share the overview of the High-level Dialogue on Energy 2021, and highlight the work ahead, with a focus on the planned activities of the Technical Working Groups to be supported by UN-Energy.
The High-Level Dialogue on Energy: First Stakeholders Briefing took place
The first online stakeholders briefing on the High-Level Dialogue on Energy was organized by DESA in collaboration with UN-Energy to share information about the Dialogue and its preparatory process with stakeholders, including opportunities for participation and contribution.
The second Informal Member States briefing on the High-Level Dialogue on Energy
The Under-Secretary-General, LIU Zhenmin as the designated Dialogue Secretary-General, and UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All Damilola Ogunbiyi, in their capacity as the Co-Chairs for the Dialogue provided remarks and an update on the preparatory process.
HIGH-LEVEL POLITICAL FORUM 2020 UNDER THE AUSPICES OF ECOSOC
The meeting will be held under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council. This will include the three-day ministerial meeting of the forum.
The theme will be "Accelerated action and transformative pathways: realizing the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development".
THE ENERGY PROGRESS REPORT
aims to provide the international community with a global dashboard to register progress on energy access, energy efficiency, renewable energy and international cooperation to advance SDG 7. It assesses the progress made by each country on these four pillars and provides a snapshot of how far we are from achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets.

The annual provides an overview of the world’s implementation efforts to date, highlighting areas of progress and areas where more action needs to be taken to ensure no one is left behind.
