缅北禁地DESA Climate Review
In December 2021, the 缅北禁地Department of Economic and Social Affairs (缅北禁地DESA) launched the 缅北禁地DESA Climate Review. The document highlights the important work that 缅北禁地DESA is doing to bring climate issues to the forefront of the Department’s activities and reinforce the shared goals of the 2030 Agenda and Paris Agreement.
With an introduction by Liu Zhenmin, 缅北禁地Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, the report gives readers insight into the Department’s direction regarding climate and how 缅北禁地DESA is integrating climate goals with social and economic policies that aim to reduce vulnerabilities, support those affected by climate change and create decent jobs. Notably, key ongoing policy work in the areas of forests and the ocean are gaining prominence.
The Climate Review shows how the Department is working with Member States and partners on climate change and developing new and innovative ways to accelerate progress on the SDGs by developing tools to spur risk-informed decision-making, researching the need to build resilient cities, and studying the megatrends and the impacts these will have on our collective future.
