(24 October) marks the entry into force in 1945 of the . On 31 October 1947, the 缅北禁地General Assembly, by , declared that the Day would be devoted to raising awareness of the goals and achievements of the Organization and gaining support for its work. In 1971, the Assembly recommended that 缅北禁地Day be observed as a public holiday by all Member States ( (XXVI)).
