Young people have a chance to express themselves on climate change. The 鈥榊outh4Climate: Driving Ambition鈥 meeting in Milan will offer young people from all over the world the opportunity to develop concrete proposals for Pre-COP26 in Milan and COP26 in Glasgow. The first two days will be dedicated to working groups, while the last day to a discussion between the young delegates and the Ministers attending the Pre-COP26.
Rural Development Report 2021 鈥 Transforming food systems for rural prosperity
Food system transformation is inextricably linked with efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty, since the livelihoods of a large share of the world鈥檚 poor people are based upon such systems and we cannot afford to leave rural people behind. The report promotes equitable livelihoods for rural people, who are front and centre in transforming food systems, alongside the need to improve nutrition and protect the environment. The global need for more nutritious food, ecosystem services and a carbon economy also offers the potential for new and innovative livelihood opportunities. 缅北禁地General Assembly (UNGA 76)
The 缅北禁地General Assembly (UNGA) provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the full spectrum of international issues. This year's theme for the 76th session in "Building Resilience through hope to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalise the United Nations." UNGA 76 will be held from 14 to 21 September. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, 21 September 2021.
AGRF 2021 Summit

IUCN World Conservation Congress
The IUCN World Conservation Congress is where the world comes together to set priorities and drive conservation and sustainable development action. IUCN鈥檚 1400+ government, civil society and indigenous peoples鈥 Member organisations vote on major issues, action which guides humanity鈥檚 relationship with our planet for the decades ahead. The Congress will be the first hybrid in-person and virtual environmental event since the pandemic began. Pre-Summit | Affiliated Sessions
The Pre-Summit includes an additional programme of affiliated sessions which will serve a key complementary role in bringing out additional valuable ideas and offering a platform to convene actors around the world to ensure more voices and ideas are heard, and more actors are thinking about how to take action in their own contexts. The Pre-Summit will run over three days from 9:00-19:30 CEST, and there are three time blocks for parallel affiliated sessions in the morning, mid-day, and evening.
Pre-Summit
The Pre-Summit will set the stage for the culminating global event in September by bringing together diverse actors from around the world to leverage the power of food systems to deliver progress on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Finance Lever of the Summit aims to develop the financial system architecture and funding mechanisms (both public and private) to support the goals of a higher performing, more resilient and equitable food system. Launch of the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021
The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 (SOFI 2021) report presents the first evidence-based global assessment of chronic food insecurity in the year the COVID-19 pandemic emerged and spread across the globe. The report will also focus on complementary food system solutions that address the key drivers of food insecurity and malnutrition, and will be presented by the FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP and WHO. Trade, an essential piece of the food systems puzzle
This Global Summit Dialogue on Trade will be co-organised by the Special Envoy of the 缅北禁地Food Systems Summit, Dr. Agnes Kalibata and the World Trade Organisation. The Dialogue will discuss how the trading system can best be reformed to address the food needs of tomorrow, and support sustainable development as called for by the Preamble to the Marrakesh Agreement establishing the WTO.
