SDG Media Zone – SIDS4, Antigua and Barbuda
Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are in the crossfires of multiple crises: climate change, the economic and social repercussions of COVID-19, and a crisis of debt. Global lockdowns severely set back efforts to invest in the Sustainable Development Goals. In the face of these escalating global crises, SIDS find themselves on the frontline.
The fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) will take place from 27 to 30 May 2024 in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda. Under the overarching theme of “Charting the course toward resilient prosperity", the Conference will assess the ability of SIDS to achieve sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development, and propose a new decade of partnerships and solutions to supercharge their path to resilient prosperity.
The SIDS4 SDG Media Zone will highlight opportunities to accelerate sustainable development progress in the SIDS regions and efforts towards a more resilient future. Conversations in the Zone will unpack some of the Conference themes, including financing for development, climate change, youth engagement and digital technologies. Join us and be part of the conversation on the transformation and solutions needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals!
