About the Private Sector Forum
The Private Sector Forum takes place at a time when untapped potential for growth exists in the LDCs. The Forum will explore partnership opportunities for private sector investments in LDCs in five priority sectors:
- Sustainable Energy
- Agriculture and rural development
- Connectivity
- Climate Change
- Sustainable Tourism
These sectors have potential to support sustainable growth, increase productivity and employment creation in the LDCs over the coming decade.
The Forum will convene leaders from the private and public sector including political leaders from the Least Developed Countries and development partner countries, CEOs of global companies and those from LDCs, impact investors and foundations, heads of international organizations as well as regional and international financial institutions.
Objectives
The three-day PSF will feature:
A High-Level Opening Dialogue: will feature high-profile speakers, heads of governments, global business leaders and announcement of launch of partnerships with private sector to support the implementation of the Doha Programme of Actions.
Thematic Sessions: organized across five thematic areas of Sustainable energy, Agriculture and rural development, Connectivity, Climate Change and Sustainable tourism. The sessions will be 90-minutes each, feature a high-level panel and a discussion segment, to showcase strong examples of collaboration with the private sector in LDCs and offer opportunities to highlight commitments and launch new partnerships with and for LDCs.
Side Events: A series of lunch time and late afternoon private sector and LDC-focused side events organized by the business organisations / 缅北禁地entities and other entities.
Special Events of the PSF: Organized around cross-cutting themes critical to fostering investment and meeting the sustainable development goals in LDCs.
Exhibition Space: 20 display and networking booths and a private Sector Forum networking zone in the exhibition area throughout the 3 days of the Forum.
Networking: rich business networking opportunities, offering direct interaction between company representatives and delegations from LDCs as well as other stakeholders,.
