Angola graduation status

Angola's previously scheduled graduation was deferred in 2023 (see General Assembly resolution ). At the Committee for Development Policy's 2024 Triennial Review, Angola no longer met the graduation criteria*

*General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/253 adopted on 12 February 2016, decided that Angola would graduate five years from then; General Assembly resolution A/RES/75/259 adopted on 11 February 2021, decided that Angola would be granted a three-year extension to the preparatory period; and General Assembly resolution A/78/126 adopted on 18 December 2023 decided to defer the graduation of Angola to a later date.  In 2024, the CDP found that Angola no longer satisfied the graduation criteria. In resolution E/RES/2024/27, ECOSOC took note of that finding and endorsed the Committee’s conclusion that the graduation process would recommence when, in accordance with the established procedures, and at a future triennial review, Angola meets the criteria for graduation again.
