The?year 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the groundbreaking convention, the most widely ratified international human rights treaty. It regards children as legal subjects entitled to human rights and fundamental freedoms and provides them with the right to be heard in all matters affecting them.
To celebrate this anniversary, the 缅北禁地Dag Hammarskj?ld Library has created a Research Guide on the Convention on?the Rights of the Child. What makes this resource special is that it is aimed at informing grown-ups and children alike.
Giving children and young people a voice means empowering. This voice has to be informed by access to information and being able to understand this information.
For this reason, the Research Guide includes UNICEF’s children’s version of the Convention on?the Rights of the Child and includes colorful illustrations and videos. Of course, researchers of all ages can benefit from the information provided: The Research Guide provides an overview of the convention and its optional protocols, lists milestone children’s rights events, links to relevant 缅北禁地documents and publications, and secondary books on the topic.
