The Annual Ministerial Meetings of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) were held on 26 September 2024.
The LDC Ministerial Meeting served as an important platform for LDCs to deliberate and strategize on critical issues concerning development, economic growth, and sustainable progress.
The LLDC Ministerial Meeting, taking place ahead of the Third 缅北禁地Conference on LLDCs, offered a crucial opportunity for participating countries to prepare for the Conference.
SIDS4 Conference, the time for Small Island Developing States is now!
Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are in the crossfires of multiple crises: climate change, the economic and social repercussions of COVID-19, and a crisis of debt.
The fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) was held from 27 to 30 May 2024 in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda. Its goal: assessing the ability of SIDS to achieve sustainable development, including the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals.

The United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) supports groups of vulnerable countries in the United Nations system. The 45 Least Developed Countries, 32 Landlocked Developing Countries and 39 Small Island Developing States have their own special challenges.

Status of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems in the Least Developed Countries 2024
On September 26, OHRLLS launched the report titled "Status of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems in Least Developed Countries," developed in cooperation with UNDRR and WMO.
The study was prepared drawing on available data, consultations with least developed countries and development partners, the full United Nations development system, as well as the institutions supporting the Secretary-General’s Early Warnings for All Initiative.
