Africa’s Youth Voices
About
Africa Youth Voices (AYV) Network is an initiative launched in April 2024 to elevate young Africans’ perspectives in global discussions on Africa. The Network’s establishment acknowledges the significant potential of Africa's youth and addresses the vital need to integrate their perspectives into efforts to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Through their membership, young African scholars, practitioners, and experts gain access to a multilateral platform allowing them to shape the outcomes of intergovernmental deliberations on issues critical to the continent's development. Network members engage in foresight analysis, advocacy, and knowledge production to inform policies on Africa, while also benefiting from capacity-building activities and mentorship to enhance their leadership and understanding of sustainable development.
The Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) serves as the Network’s secretariat, coordinating activities and fostering interactions between network members and global policymakers. The AYV Network will be organized around the six thematic clusters in OSAA’s strategic agenda:
