The United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa is hosting a launch event of “Africa’s Youth Voices”, a permanent network through which OSAA can ensure that the African youth’s perspectives are embedded in its policy analysis, advisory and advocacy activities.
Under the theme of "Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today: Fostering Youth's Ownership for Africa's Future-Ready Leadership", this event will be held on 15 April 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (New York local time) and will take place in a hybrid format at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and online.
The establishment of this AYV network outlines OSAA’s dedication to advancing Africa's interests and priorities on the global stage, in line with the calls of the Secretary-General to implement “multilateral solutions for a better tomorrow” and his leadership in organizing the “Summit of the Future.” Recognizing the immense potential and invaluable perspectives of young Africans in accelerating the continent’s sustainable development towards the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, OSAA aims to establish AYV as a global network to provide young Africans with access to a multilateral stage, amplifying their voices and bringing their expertise and knowledge of the African context at the centre of international policymaking.
