Africa Regional Review Meeting for Least Developed Countries
The 33 Least Developed Countries (LDCs) of Africa and Haiti are gathering to assess the state of their development goals and agree how best to get back on track.
In preparation for the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries to be held in Doha, Qatar from 23-27 January 2022, the United Nations and the Government of Malawi will convene the Africa Regional Review Meeting from 22-26 February to assess the structural challenges and emerging development issues faced by African LDCs and Haiti. The meeting will propose concrete actions to accelerate sustainable development in the LDCs over the next decade.
The Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) and the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States ( OHRLLS) are co-organizing Session 2 of the Africa Regional Review meeting on the Implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) for the decade 2011-2020.
Session 2, which is on “Building peaceful, just and inclusive societies", will be held on 23 February 2021 from 13:00 to 14:45 GMT.
