Civil Society Engagement
The Peacebuilding Commission recognizes the important contribution of civil society, including non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to all stages of peacebuilding efforts, given that one of the main purposes of the Commission is to bring together all relevant actors, in particular national stakeholders.
Interviews
In countries under consideration by the Commission, national and local civil society organizations are encouraged to engage in national consultations on the peacebuilding priorities. Civil society representatives serve as members of the Joint Steering Committees, which oversees the Peacebuilding Fund, and may also participate in meetings of the PBC.
