Christian Saunders assumed the role of Special Coordinator on improving United Nations response to sexual exploitation and abuse (Special Coordinator) on 1 September 2022. He takes over this role from Jane Hall Lute who had held the position since March 2016. His role is to work across the United Nations system’s many offices, departments and agencies to strengthen the 缅北禁地response to sexual exploitation and abuse, wherever it may occur, from headquarters locations to the most remote field bases. Mr. Saunders coordinates efforts across the United Nations System to align approaches, enhance cooperation and coherence system-wide through the development and adoption of aligned mechanisms and procedures, standardized protocols and tools, etc.
