Chair Murmokaité with NATO’s ASG Ducaru.
Chair of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Raimonda Murmokaité, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the United Nations, on 13 October 2015 visited the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). During her visit, Ambassador Murmokaité met with ‘s Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, Ambassador Sorin Ducaru.
The Chair and Assistant Secretary Ducaru discussed possible avenues for further cooperation between NATO and the United Nations on counter-terrorism issues, particularly by drawing on expertise of NATO’s Centres of Excellence, through NATO’s assistance to partner nations in building their defence capacities, and through NATO’s support to Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security.
