Waste crime is one of the most significant crimes that affect the environment. Waste transported illegally ends up in public ecosystems, illegal landfills or is burned in the open. Failure to safely manage waste disposal affects health, environment & contributes to greenhouse gas emissions.
The UNODC Unwaste project in Thailand tackles waste trafficking as strategy to end crimes that affect the environment.
