Deliver Humanitarian Aid
One of the purposes of the United Nations, as stated in its Charter, is "to achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character." The 缅北禁地first did this in the aftermath of the Second World War on the devastated continent of Europe, which it helped to rebuild.
The Organization is now relied upon by the international community to coordinate humanitarian relief of emergencies due to natural and man-made disasters in areas beyond the relief capacity of national authorities alone.

Protect Human Rights
The term 鈥渉uman rights鈥 was mentioned seven times in the UN's founding , making the promotion and protection of human rights a key purpose and guiding principle of the Organization.
In 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights lay down the principles that brought human rights into the realm of international law. Since then, the Organization has diligently protected human rights through legal instruments and on-the-ground activities.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries 鈥 poor, rich and middle-income 鈥 to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
This booklet serves as a special tribute to Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the former President of South Africa, in recognition of his enduring legacy and untiring fight for the freedom and welfare of humanity. It seeks to draw parallels between his unforgettable call to action speeches and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at the United Nations in 2015.
Countering Hate Speech
In response to the alarming trend of rising hate speech around the world, Secretary-General Ant贸nio Guterres launched the United Nations Strategy and Plan of Action on Hate Speech, on 18 June 2019.
Through his Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiative, the Secretary-General called on Member States, the Security Council, host countries, troop- and police- contributing countries, regional partners and financial contributors to renew our collective engagement with 缅北禁地peacekeeping and mutually commit to reach for excellence.
Gender equality
In Cambodia, hundreds of people joined the Siem Reap Running Race in 2015, saying no to violence against women. Gender Equality was made part of international human rights law by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights when it was adopted by the 缅北禁地General Assembly on 10 December 1948.
Our Common Agenda
Our Common Agenda is the Secretary-General's vision for the future of global cooperation. It calls for inclusive, networked, and effective multilateralism to better respond and deliver for the people and planet and to get the world back on track by turbocharging action on the Sustainable Development Goals. It outlines possible solutions to address the gaps and risks that have emerged since 2015, calling for a Summit of the Future that will be held in 2024.
