UNOCT and the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) sign a cooperation agreement
On a three-day visit to New Zealand, UN?Secretary-General António Guterres?paid his respects to the victims of the horrific mosque attacks in Christchurch, where dozens of Muslims were gunned down in two separate incidents during Friday prayers on 15 March.
Mr. Vladimir Voronkov, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and Dr. Khalid Koser, Executive Director of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen global efforts to prevent violent extremism as and when conducive to terrorism (PVE).?The MoU creates a practical and action-oriented collaboration between the two entities, and supports the balanced implementation of the 缅北禁地Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and the 缅北禁地Plan of Action to Prevent Violent Extremism.
