Mortality
Reducing mortality, increasing life expectancy, and improving the health of populations are key objectives of the Programme of Action of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Population Division produces estimates and projections of mortality rates and life expectancy at birth at the global, regional and national level.
