The Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the takes place in Marrakech, Morocco on the 10th and 11th of December, 2018.
The Conference is convened under the auspices of the United Nations General Assembly and is held pursuant to resolution of 19 September 2016, entitled "New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants," which decided to launch a process of intergovernmental negotiations leading to the adoption of the Global Compact for Migration.
The modalities for the Conference were further elaborated in resolutions of 6 April 2017, of 24 December 2017 and of 31 July 2018.
