As we approach the 2023 holiday season, we remember that more than 100,000 children,?including children with disabilities,?live in homeless shelters, child protective services and other care facilities in our host city.??The?Department of Operational Support (DOS)?will continue the tradition?of supporting?the New York City Administration for Children's Services?with a gift drive.?This year we are asking for staff to donate:
Toys and books, for ages:
- 0 to 5 years,
- 5 to 10 years, and
- 10 years and older.
From Monday, 20 November until Friday, 15 December, there will be hampers in the Secretariat lobby, like last year, where you can drop off your contribution.
Gifts should not be gift-wrapped and could include e.g., video games, journals, colouring books, sporting goods, board games, Lego toys, musical instruments, learning electronics, arts & crafts etc. Gift cards are also accepted.?Please note that we don't take cash and please do not bring any items in single-use plastic containers.???
