The Ãå±±½ûµØPostal Administration (UNPA) is pleased to announce the release of twelve new endangered species stamps on 7 April.
The stamps, which were produced in conjunction with the , highlight species of wild fauna and flora that are endemic or unique to certain geographical regions.
Illustrated by Cuban American artist Juan Carlos Alonso, the stamps showcase six mammals, three plants, two birds, and one reptile, all exclusively found in specific locations.
The US $1.20 stamps feature the waigeo cuscus, the helmeted honeyeater, the venus flytrap, and the American alligator.
The CHF 1,50 stamps feature the golden-headed lion tamarin, the greater bilby, the ring-tailed lemur, and the grand spider orchid.
The € 0,90 stamps feature the orange-bellied parrot, the babirusa, the bridled nail-tailed wallaby, and the telipogon-like lepanthes.
In addition to the stamps, three maxi-cards, a special limited-edition silk cover and a beautifully designed endangered species folder which details more information about these species will also be released.
