About Action Networks

The 缅北禁地Decade of Action on Nutrition offers an opportunity to strengthen collaboration on nutrition action between countries. Action Networks are informal coalitions of countries, with global or regional scope, aimed at accelerating and aligning efforts around specific topics linked to the Nutrition Decade’s Work Programme.

Led and coordinated by one or more countries, Action Networks allow countries to exchange knowledge and good practices, successes and challenges, and provide mutual support to accelerate progress with the final objective of improving food systems, diets and nutrition for all through policies and legislation.

Establishing Action Networks

The process of forming, structuring, running and supporting Action Networks for the Nutrition Decade starts with countries. One or more countries sharing an interest to take action on specific topics within the Nutrition Decade's Work Programme can request to convene an Action Network. Such countries can share their experiences, lessons learned, obstacles as well as the challenges they faced, as a means to promote learning and change.

Network conveners provide the Action Network’s proposed title, objectives, scope and initial programme of work by writing to the joint FAO/WHO Secretariat of the Nutrition Decade. Convening governments should identify and invite other countries interested in the Action Network’s topic area.
