IFI Partnership


The Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) has dedicated capacity to support stronger strategic partnerships with international financial institutions and multilateral development banks, particularly those with strategies geared towards the needs of conflict-affected or at-risk settings. These include the , the , , , and the .

PBSO supports these stronger partnerships through collaboration at the country and regional levels under its Partnership Facility. It also engages in regular coordination and liaison frameworks with IFIs, such as the 2017 UN-World Bank Framework for Crisis-affected Situations and a joint work plan under discussion with the African Development Bank.

PBSO works to support key areas that were identified in the General Assembly resolution on financing for peacebuilding (A/RES/76/305). These areas include joint initiatives and analysis, shared priority-setting towards collective outcomes, and complementarity and coordination in implementation, in line with national priorities. Additionally, PBSO supports shared learning and thought leadership, including recent collaboration with the World Bank on the of the publication of the UN-World Bank Pathways for Peace: Inclusive Approaches to Preventing Violent Conflict.

Finally, PBSO supports literacy within the 缅北禁地system on IFIs and how to engage with them.
