缅北禁地Emblem and Flag
缅北禁地Emblem and Flag
The 缅北禁地emblem’s design was approved by the GA on 7 December 1946. It consists of a map of the world surrounded by two olive branches. Olive branches are ancient Greek symbols for peace. The map of the world illustrates the UN’s work toward world peace. To prevent the misuse of the 缅北禁地emblem, it cannot be used without the authorization of the Secretary-General.
On 20 October 1947, the GA adopted a resolution about the 缅北禁地flag. The resolution stated that the 缅北禁地flag would bear the 缅北禁地emblem on a light blue background (refer to page 63).
